Félix
Peace & Justice
Félix is a photojournalist, human rights defender, and co-producer in the “Mirar Distinto” International Festival of Photography and Documentary. He also uses his work to cover the effects of enforced disappearances, the war on drugs, and forced displacement of migrants and refugees. After experiencing the death of a dear colleague, it prompted him to train fellow photographers in safety, professionalism, narrative techniques, and ethics. In 2009 he created a space and community, Trasluz Photo, where journalists can come together to collectively share their realities. Félix is interested in sharing his stories and aims to display his work in exhibitions and presentations in academic and journalistic spaces.

Brenda Hershey
TRY Global
Brenda is the proud founder of TRY Global, a non-profit organization focused on promoting healing through combining yoga and neuroscience. She uses her skills to teach yoga to people who have been through traumatic experiences. The yoga session help attendees to recalibrate their nervous system and walk away feeling empowered. Currently she’s in Iraq helping refugees to work through their trauma with the TRY Global Crisis Response Team.

Lidija Zelovic
Zelovic Film
Lidija began her film making career after escaping the Civil war in Bosnia at the age of 21. A year after the war started, she sought asylum in The Netherlands. Lidija has worked for major media corporations as a researcher and executive producer. She is also a success independent film maker at her company Zelovic Film. Besides film making, Lidija is also a motivational speaker. She use uses her past life experience to connect with her audience.

Bruce Cerew
The Ray of Light Foundation
Meet Bruce, a Liberian Civil War refugee who has completely transformed his life. He’s lived through poverty, domestic violence, being trained as a child soldier, and escaping the war. Now Bruce uses his story to motivate and encourage others to find positivity in the most negative situations. He has also founded The Ray of Light Foundation, which provides aid to impoverished women, children and farmers in home country, Nigeria.

Ali
Justice & Peace
Ali is a Turkish LGBTIQ+ rights defender and proud board member of the Social Policy, Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD) in Turkey. In a country with LGBTIQ+ bans, restrictions and discrimination, his actions have impacted the safety and well-being of his life. Regardless, Ali continues the fight to change the narrative. As a PhD scholar and research assistant at Istanbul Kultur University’s Faculty of Law, he studies LGBTIQ+ issues. Currently, Ali is working towards expanding his research on LGBTIQ+ marriage and related issues such as adoption and access to health services.

Hannibal Saad
Culture Unlimited
Hannibal is a Syrian musician and general manager at Culture Unlimited. Hannibal founded two music festivals in Syria and ran them until the Syrian crisis began. As well as having worked as a music manager and festival artistic director, hehas vast experience as an independent musician and culture event producer across the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S. Currently, Hannibal runs international crossover projects between the Arab world and the rest of the world.
